How do I play blackjack?
First thing you need to know is that in blackjack each of the number cards is worth its number value, and all the face cards are worth 10. Ace's are worth 1 or 11. The object in blackjack (or 21) is to draw cards whose value is 21 (or as close as possible without going over 21).

When you start playing, you begin by placing your bet, and then you are dealt 2 cards, as is the dealer. One is an 'up card' (face up) and a 'hole card' (face down). Flip your 'hole card' and examine the value of your cards and the dealers 'up card'... now the choice is up to you... you'll need to choose one of the following options:
Stand - you won't take any more cards
Hit - you'll take an additional card, with the aim of reaching as close to 21 as possible without going bust (over 21) and can continue hitting until you win, go bust, or stand.
Double down - Double your bet and take one more card
Split - When you have two cards of the same value, you can double your bet and split your hand - and then each card will count as the first card of a new hand.
Surrender - When you aren't happy with your hand, you can minimise your losses by performing a 'surrender' and you loose half of your bet amount.

The game is over when you lose, or go bust or surrender your hand. If not, it's the dealers turn to play by hitting or standing. You win the game if the dealer goes bust. If neither of you are bust, the higher hand (closest to 21) wins.
